About this book of Harivamsamu by Sri Saripalle Somayaji

Sri Hari Vamsam book in Telugu written by Sri Somayaji is released on 17th June 2012 in Rama Nama Kshetram of Guntur. Sri Hari Vamsam is a part of (called Khila Bhaagam/ supplement) of Maha Bharatam by Veda Vyasa Maharshi with 3 Parvas in it. It was first written in Telugu by Sri Nachana Soma in poetic (Padyam) style. The book by Sri Saripalle Somayaji is the first complete Telugu work in Gadya rachanas. It is in Sarala Grandhika style. The rachana saili in this book is like the river Ganga in Haridwar:- Once the book is opened to read, one can not stop until finishing few chapters in row. The book is worth keeping in home library and good as a gift too.

Basic details of Harivasam
Parva1: Derivation of the world from Sri Hari. Surya Chandra Vamsamulu... (including Surya - Chandra Vamsamulu) from God (Hari)
Parva2: Krishnaavatara of Lord Hari
Parva3: Ultimate knowledge (Atma tatva) of knowing the Supreme God Hari (synonimously- World/ SupremeSelf)

The Krishnaavatara varnana is different in Harivamsam compared to Bahaagavatam. In Harivamsam, Lord Krishna is shown as a human and his (ideal) way of leading a fruitful human life with the practice of Human Dharma. Whereas in Bhagavatam, Lord Sri Krishna is depicted as Bhagawan and several different ways (follwed by Raakshasas like Kamsa and Bhaktas like Akrura...) of reaching him, called Upasanas, were described.

Other attractive features of the book include-
1. Appendix of Stotras that are part of Harivamsam
2. Potana and Yerrana padyaalu in Krishnaavatara part
3. Dharma prastaavana at the end of each chapter
